Hiking, biking, Nordic Walking, mountaineering, route climbing, fishing: whatever you are looking for as an activity to unwind in the mountains you can do at the Lötschental. The lovely valley offers a diversity of activities for every age and interest.

Hiking

  • With its over 200km of hiking trails the valley offers trails for all conditions from the “Lötschentaler Höhenweg” to the “Schwarzsee”, “Fafleralp” and the glacier “Langgletscher”. Discover the popular and famous “Lötschberger Panoramweg”(“Panormaic Trail”) or the myths along the “Lötschentaler Sagenweg” (“Trail of Saga”).
  • Take a tour to the mountain huts of “Bietschhorn”, “Lötschenpass” or “Anenhütte” above the alpine glacier. You can explore the end of the shoreline of the alpine glacier “Langgletscher” with your family or collect mountain crystals, which are called “Strahlen” (”Beams”), in ravines and caves all around the Lötschental.
  • Many of the hiking trails can be travelled on by mountain bike. You will find suggestions for biking tours form easy-to-go to heavy levels of difficulty on the website of Lötschental tourism (see below).
  • A mountain guide will come along with you and show you the fantastic panoramic view form the summits.

Climbing crags
You can book hiking and climbing tours for every level of expertise – for families, beginners or advanced climbers. The Lötschental offers climbing areas with grades ranging form 3 to 7 in the Lötschentaler climbing parks Kummen-, Lauchern- and Fafleralp.

BBQ on the Lauchernalp
A snug BBQ with an oven is located near the biotope on the Lauchernalp. Follow the signpost „Biotope“ on the Lauchernalp and enjoy a warm summer evening with panoramic views.

Winter:

Snowboarding, Ski-touring, free ride or just pure skiing with your family and small children, for beginners to experienced skiers, the Lauchernalp ski arena offers guaranteed snow with 55 km pistes up to 3111m above sea level. It has a unique free ride arena and all offers pistes of all levels of difficulty, ranging from blue to black runs.

The snow sport school “COOL SCHOOL” will teach you in every style and experience. Trained staff takes care of the youngest in the Snowli-Land while the parents enjoy skiing on more difficult slopes. Snowboarding or winter hiking are other highlight activities in the valley. The most popular tobogganing route starts at the Lauchernalp at 1968m see level and reaches the town of Wiler or Kippel (3,4 km long).

A 24 km Cross-country-trail runs form Kippel, Wiler to the Fafleralp, ideal with skating or classic style.
